About Me

My Story

Hello! My name is Emily Richardson and I'm a Junior at the University of California, Santa Barbara. I have created this website with the hopes of connecting with other young adults like me in order to expose them to the causes of prediabetes and how to prevent prediabetes.

Prediabetes is not the end of the story. Prediabetes, although a precursor to Type 2 diabetes, is reversible. By paying close attention to the foods and drinks that you're consuming as well as the amount of physical activity that you're engaging in, it is completely possible to reverse your diagnosis. Stop prediabetes before it begins by eating healthy foods, focusing on drinking more water, and making sure to stay moving!

Helpful Sources

Here are some sources on how to prevent and reverse prediabetes. I hope that you find them helpful! I've included a video from USA Today on how to prevenet and reverse prediabetes, an NPR article on the benefits on walking (even if it's just for a little), and a blog post about healthy eating from Alaska Regional Hospital.
